Why We Selected This Wine

One of the defining traits of Villa Katina's terroir, as expressed in our Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé, is the presence of an elegant strawberry-driven nose. Over the years, it has revealed itself in the glass as strawberry jam, lightly smoked strawberry with mint, Turkish delight, and fresh strawberry juice.

Color: The colour is vibrant and intense, flowing into hues reminiscent of peach tree blossoms at sunset.
Nose: "On the nose, I found fine and delicate fruit aromas, nuances of ripe red fruits, gently suggested strawberries and raspberries—perhaps even mulberries. For a moment, I was back in the countryside, picking and tasting them straight from the tree."
Palate: "On the palate, it differs from typical rosés. It is much fuller, with a pronounced presence and depth. The fruit notes are elegant and well-balanced, without dominating. This rosé is complex, with a deep character—like the perfect prelude between winter and spring. The most memorable aspect is the finish. Somehow long, it keeps you on your toes, making you want to take another sip before you’ve fully experienced the entire palette of the previous one.” – S.G.

Pairing recommendation
A wonderful combination with soft and creamy cheeses such as goat and brie, pasta with cream sauce, truffle pates, seafood - prawns, mussels and fish.

Zaara Cow's milk cheese with figs
Zaara Cow's milk cheese with figs
The floral and mineral notes of the Rose enhance the honeyed and fruity nuances of the figs. The acidity of the wine meets the fat of the yellow cheese and refreshes the palate. The figs bring a delicate sweetness to the taste, which adds to the density and aroma of the wine.
Bloc de Foie Gras de Canard de Rois
Bloc de Foie Gras de Canard de Rois
The freshness of the wine "cuts" the fat, and the sweetness and fruity notes harmonize with the sweetness of the pate.
Green cheese
Green cheese
An intense and salty accent that sits well with the fruity and structured red profile and makes the tannins feel soft and velvety. The acidity in the wine refreshes and balances the fats.
